Block 3: Crow’s Foot - blue, 16 ½” sq.

Supplies:
Blue Corner Unit from Part 1
(4) 4 ½” blue squares

(8) blue 2 ½” squares
(28) grey 2 ½” squares
(8) black 2 ½” x 4 ½” rectangles [SMALL]
(4) black 2 ½” x 8 ½” rectangles [LARGE]

Flying Geese:  2 ½” x 4 ½”
Draw a diagonal line (45 degrees, corner to opposite corner) on the back of (16) grey 2 ½” squares.
With right sides together, match the corner of each SMALL black rectangle with a grey square. [Drawn line will tilt inward.] 
Stitch on the line, trim corner to 1/4" of stitching, press toward corner.  
Create 8

Bars:  2 ½” x 8 ½”
Draw a diagonal line (45 degrees, corner to opposite corner) on the back of (8) blue 2 ½” squares.
With right sides together, match the corner of each LARGE black rectangle with a blue square.  [Drawn line will tilt inward.]
Stitch on the line, trim corner to 1/4" of stitching, press toward corner. Create 4

Wing Patch:  4 ½” x 8 ½”
Add a  2 ½” grey patch on both ends of  (6) Flying Geese units, creating Extended Flying Geese.
Combine Flying Geese upside-down over Bar with arrows pointing down and blue corners on the outside bottom.
Create 4
Remainder: 2 Extended Flying Geese units for Center Patch.

Center 9-Patch:  8 ½” sq.

Combine remaining 2 Flying Geese upside-down on either side of (1) blue 4 ½” square.
Add remainder 2 Extended Flying Geese on opposite sides of blue patch.
All four flying geese will be pointing toward blue patch.
Create 1

Row 1:
From left to right combine Blue Corner Unit, Wing Patch, blue 4 ½” square.
Orange point will be on top/left/outside.

Row 2:  center

Combine (2) Wing Patches on opposite sides of  Center Patch.
Blue corners are on the inside.

Row 3:
Add blue 4 ½” squares to both ends of remaining Wing Patch.

Combine 3 Rows and press.
Hint:  All black arrows will be pointing toward center blue patch. Orange corner will be on the outside of block.
